NEARCH takes part in the virtual "Day of Archaeology" on July 29th, 2016.
Have you ever wondered what archaeologists really get up to? Is it all just digging or is there a lot more to it? The "Day of Archaeology" project aims to provide a window into the daily lives of archaeologists from all over the world. The project asks people working, studying or volunteering in the archaeological world to participate in a “Day of Archaeology” each year in the summer by recording their days and sharing it through texts, images or videos on the project website.
The resulting "Day of Archaeology" project demonstrates the wide variety of work the archaeological profession undertakes day-to-day across the globe, and helps to raise public awareness of the relevance and importance of archaeology to the modern world. The project wants anyone with a personal, professional or voluntary interest in archaeology to get involved, and help highlight the reasons why archaeology is vital to protect the past and inform our futures.
As a full partner of the "Day of Archaeology" project, NEARCH invites all to follow its lead and participate in the 2016 edition.
A complete list of NEARCH’s 2015 participation is also available.
The 2016 edition of the virtual "Day of Archaeology" will take place on July 29th.
